Home Care Assistance of Massachusetts Passed Their Annual License Inspection with Zero Defects for the 3rd Year

By Larry Levine, 9:00 am on

This week, Home Care Assistance of Massachusetts passed our 2012 annual license inspection by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards with zero defects. This is the 3rd year in a row that we achieved this status. This is impressive in that not every home health care agency in Massachusetts passes their annual DOS inspection with zero defects. However, it is not so impressive in that this inspection merely verifies that we keep track of client agreements, employee agreements, abide by minimum wage and overtime regulations and post the required labor postings. While it is true that not every agency abides by all of these requirements, any and all law-abiding home health agencies have to meet these requirements.

Home Care Assistance of Massachusetts goes above and beyond these requirements, however. With offices in Wellesley, Hyannis, Brewster, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, we are providing quality home care for seniors throughout Massachusetts. We are one of the first home health agencies to meet the requirements of the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts Accreditation Standard. The Alliance’s Accreditation Standard, in addition to requiring accredited members to attest to their adherence to Massachusetts and Federal law, requires agencies to meet a higher level of quality standard in the care it delivers to its clients. The standard includes requirements for client privacy, the creation and adherence to client care plans, abuse and neglect detection and reporting requirements, supervision visits, minimum caregiver training and experience requirements, caregiver licensure verification, expanded criminal background check requirements and increased minimum insurance requirements. Agencies that meet or exceed the Home Care Alliance’s Accreditation Standard requirements deliver a higher level of service that is required by the State of Massachusetts.

When looking for care for a family member or friend, look beyond the minimum state requirements. Consider the quality of care provided. Consider Home Care Assistance of Massachusetts. Contact our Wellesley office at 781-239-0060 for quality in home senior care.
